After fifteen years in the making, I’m thrilled to present my debut book, “Beloved Outcast.” Inspired by a divine dream urging me to “Tell them, Romans 10,” I embarked on a journey of faith and obedience. As I penned the most challenging chapters, I wrestled with profound questions. Like Martha beside her brother’s tomb, facing loss and doubt, I too questioned: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” It’s in these moments that grit-fueled faith emerges—a relentless pursuit of God amidst adversity, a faith that not only survives but triumphs over unforgiveness, fear, and shattered dreams.
“Grit-fueled Faith” embodies this unwavering determination to believe and act on God’s promises despite obstacles. Jesus sought declarations of faith from his disciples, and today, He invites us to share our transformed stories. Our testimonies, as Revelation 12:11 reminds us, are powerful—they overcome darkness, inspire others, and affirm God’s victory in our lives.
For me, writing and speaking are not mere skills but sacred tools to proclaim His truth. Through the unwavering grace of God, I find purpose and strength to fulfill His calling. While revisiting decades of past trauma, I could not fathom how I overcame so much adversity, let alone survive. Most of those years, I knew nothing about Jesus or a loving God. Faced with writing the most triggering chapter of the book, I feared excavating the worst memories of my childhood.
Standing on the deck of Pigeon Point Lighthouse, the Lord heard my unspoken thoughts. Moments later, He led me to search out my birth scripture. Born on 4/17, I flipped through every 4:17 verse in the Bible.
God answered me through 2 Timothy 4:17, “But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.” The Lord continued, “It was I who strengthened you and carried you through. And I will help you now.”
It is my hope that you encounter the same impossible strength, grit-fueled faith, to carry you through the onslaught of resistance, discouragement, and lies the enemy attempts to bring. In Romans 10:13-15, we’re reminded of the beauty in sharing the good news, and I am humbled to play a part in this divine narrative. Every word penned and every story shared is a testament to God’s faithfulness and love. I walk forward not in my strength but in His, trusting that His guidance will continue to empower and illuminate His love through my life. For His glory. For His kingdom. For such a time as this.
